Chapter 08 · Owner resources

The Casita Owner’s Library.

Built from Cozy’s paper trail, real projects, factory documentation, specialist guides and Casita community knowledge. Manuals, diagrams, troubleshooting paths, upgrade ideas and community resources—organized around the part of the camper in front of you.

Fresh-water gravity fill

This opening fills the onboard fresh-water tank. When you are away from hookups, the 12-volt pump draws from that tank and pressurizes the faucets, shower and toilet supply.

Owner check

Use a potable-water hose, keep the cap and inlet clean, and never force a pressurized city-water hose into this opening.

Important: Casita locations, capacities, appliances and plumbing arrangements changed across years, models, options and owner modifications. This diagram shows common relationships on a 17-foot Deluxe; verify the trailer and equipment label in front of you before service.

Start with your question

Find the path that matches the job.

A 2002 Spirit Deluxe and a new Casita may share the same shell idea while using very different appliances, wiring and hardware. The library is designed to preserve those differences instead of flattening them into one generic answer.

Casita specialists + practical guides

The places I keep coming back to.

Factory information, Casita specialists and project libraries each offer a different kind of practical help. Bringing them together makes it easier for Casita owners to explore the information that fits their own needs.

Specialist advice and project diagrams are starting points, not universal plans. Confirm the year, model, equipment and actual installation in the camper in front of you.

The community behind the camper

Built with the Casita community.

Facebook groups and owner conversations have been a living workshop for this build: people showing what is behind a wall, sharing measurements, explaining what failed and answering the oddly specific question that only another Casita owner understands.

A sincere thank-you

Generosity is part of the blueprint.

Special thanks to Tom Griebe, Frank Higgins, Steve Paynter and Steve Linberry. Tom and Frank’s practical Casita knowledge and repeated willingness to help have been invaluable. Steve Paynter and Steve Linberry each took the time to speak directly with Jason about their solar installations, answer his questions and share what they learned. Their generosity—and the builds themselves—helped inspire Cozy’s roof-solar system and showed what another owner could make possible.

And thank you to the entire Casita community for the endless help, participation, measurements, photographs, ideas, corrections and encouragement shared so freely with other owners.

Facebook community

Two groups. Countless answers.

Much of the Facebook help behind Cozy came through these two communities. They remain living libraries of owner experience, even though opening a link may require a Facebook login and group membership.

Designed to keep growing

A home for every new discovery.

The archive becomes more useful with every scan. This structure lets a 2001 invoice, a refrigerator troubleshooting email, a factory manual and a modern solar diagram live together without losing what each one proves—or which camper it applies to.

The research archive collects. This library publishes.

The separate Casita Research Archive remains responsible for gathering, organizing and verifying the source files. These collection destinations are ready to receive material after that work is complete.

The library standard

Every document needs context.

A wiring diagram without a year, model or source can be more dangerous than helpful. As the collection grows, every record will carry the labels needed to understand what it is, where it came from and whether it describes an original, historical, conceptual or as-built system.

Use the library as a starting point

Verify the trailer in front of you.

Casita equipment changes across years, options and prior-owner modifications. Before electrical, propane, braking, structural or roof-penetration work, identify the exact equipment, trace the actual system and use appropriate professional help when the consequences of a mistake are serious.
